Virtual Surgical Planning and Pre-operative Simulation for Maxillofacial Reconstruction with 3D Printing Technology in Tumor-affected Facial Deformity

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: The high anatomical complexity of maxillofacial defects caused by tumor can pose a formidable challenge for clinicians when designing an appropriate plan surgical reconstruction. intention this work was to restore the complex anatomy with maximum possible facial functionality and aesthetics patient. Based on medical images generated Computed Tomography (CT) scan optimal therapeutic planning reconstruction designed.

Virtual pre-operative reconstruction planning for comminuted articular fractures

3D puzzle solving methods for this purpose were previously developed utilizing surrogate specimens [1]. Accurate fracture reconstructions were obtained by interactively matching native fragment surfaces to an intact template. While successfully piloted in a clinical case, more automated methods will be required in order for this approach to be practical in a clinical setting [2]. Surrogate geom...

Developing a 3D Reconstruction System for Surgical Planning in Neurovascular Surgery (In press)

Introduction: Neurovascular lesions may cause death or disability. Some of them are operable, but surgical approaches to these lesions are complicated and proper access is crucial. A few numbers of these surgeries occur in every resident education period and their experience for operating these lesions may be quite inadequate. Using new technologies like 3D-restructure of vascular lesion images...

Virtual surgical planning and 3D printing in prosthetic orbital reconstruction with percutaneous implants: a technical case report

Osseointegrated titanium implants to the cranial skeleton for retention of facial prostheses have proven to be a reliable replacement for adhesive systems. However, improper placement of the implants can jeopardize prosthetic outcomes, and long-term success of an implant-retained prosthesis. Three-dimensional (3D) computer imaging, virtual planning, and 3D printing have become accepted componen...

3D printing technology used in severe hip deformity

This study was designed to assess the use of a 3D printing technique in total hip arthroplasty (THA) for severe hip deformities, where new and improved approaches are needed. THAs were performed from January 2015 to December 2016. Bioprosthesis artificial hip joints were used in both conventional and 3D printing hip arthroplasties. A total of 74 patients (57 cases undergoing conventional hip re...
